Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a type of imaging test that shows a continuous x-ray image on a monitor, much like an x-ray movie. It is used to diagnose or treat patients by displaying the movement of a body part or of an instrument or dye (contrast agent) through the body.
During a fluoroscopy procedure, an x-ray beam is passed through the body. The image is transmitted to a monitor so that the body part and its motion can be seen in detail.
We offer Fluoroscopy imaging at our offices in Stockton, CA. Call 209-467-1000 today for an appointment.
FAQ’S
X–rays are a type of radiation called electromagnetic waves. X–ray imaging creates pictures of the inside of your body. The images show the parts of your body in different shades of black and white. This is because different tissues absorb different amounts of radiation. A radiologist will then read these images and communicate his/her findings to your primary doctor or specialist.
Please wear loose fitting clothing without any zips, buckles, belts or buttons. This type of clothing can be left on during the X– If needed, our technologists can provide you with a gown to change into along with a blanket if you need one.
You can eat and drink as normal beforehand and can continue taking your usual medications. However, you may need to stop taking certain medications and avoid eating and drinking for a few hours if you‘re having an X–ray that uses a contrast agent (see contrast X–rays below).
