High Field Open MRI

The Open MRI is designed for claustrophobic or de-conditioned patients who find the traditional MRI too confining. For babies and young children the Open MRI is a good alternative to traditional High Field MRI, as it allows the patients mother/father or guardian to be present in the room with them. For more information about our Open MRI services please contact us.

At VALLEY MRI AND RADIOLOGY INC, we are dedicated to keeping our clients comfortable, therefore we are happy to answer any additional questions you may have in regards to an Open MRI.

Great for claustrophobic patients.

Increased table capacity up to 500 lbs.

High Field image quality

High Field MRI

The High Field MRI is a staple of MRI technology. Tried and true over many years, it continues to deliver incredibly high quality images which doctors and physicians can use to diagnose and inform treatment of any number of medical conditions.

At VALLEY MRI AND RADIOLOGY INC we utilize GE 1.5 tesla MRI scanner systems allowing “High-Field, High Resolution” images. Scan time ranges 15-20 minutes. To enhance patient comfort, our scanner is equipped with a radio so patients can listen to music during their exam as well as still be able to interact directly with your specialized technologist.

In addition, patients are welcome to have a family member or friend in the MRI suite with them during the exam. Some exceptions may apply.

All MRI studies and diagnostic reports are available to referring physicians via our on-line Web-based archival storage (PACS). Exam images are also available on CD.

FAQ’s

On the day of your MRI scan, you should be able to eat, drink and take any medication as usual, unless you’re advised otherwise. In some cases, you may be asked not to eat or drink anything for up to 4 hours before the scan, and sometimes you may be asked to drink a fairly large amount of water beforehand.

As a patient, it is vital that you remove all metallic belongings in advance of an MRI exam, including external hearing aids, watches, jewelry, cell phones, and items of clothing that have metallic threads or fasteners. For example, most jeans or denim pants come with metal zippers. In this case you will be provided with a gown and asked to please remove the article of clothing. If you need a blanket, we may provide you with one as well.

If possible, do not wear an underwire bra (the metal can throw off the magnetic field). Sports bras are usually a good alternative. We also have hospital gowns to change into if necessary. The clasps on the back of a regular bra are not a problem, but avoid wearing bras that have metal parts on the straps.

Unfortunately no. Many patients ask if someone can give them their results that day, but techs can not give any information. You will receive your results from your primary doctor or specialist once they receive the report.
